The purpose of this course is to explain the new data protection law being introduced by General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and what it means for your work.
By the end of this module you should be able to: explain what is meant by the term "personal data", and what happens if we don't comply with data protection law, discuss what is data protection law and why it's important and why it is important to have a legal justification for processing personal data and what the legal justifications are?, have an understanding of the rights of individuals and what a Data Protection Impact Assessment is and when it needs to be carried out and be aware of the requirement to keep data secure, and your organisation's policies and procedures on data protection law.
