Designing the UK’s Community Diagnostic Centres
Designing the UK’s Community Diagnostic Centres
The rollout of community diagnostic centres across England is intended to cut long waiting lists, provide value for taxpayers and decarbonise the NHS. Achieving all three is a complex balancing act.
This course will delve into the strategies and challenges of establishing up to 160 CDCs by 2025, aimed at significantly reducing the waiting times for non-urgent NHS patients.
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Understand the initiative to create 160 Community Diagnostic Centres by 2025 to reduce patient waiting times and move diagnostic services closer to communities
- Explain how CDCs are customised based on local needs and integrate advanced diagnostic technologies, adapting to changing medical equipment
- Identify case studies like the West Middlesex University Hospital and Northamptonshire CDCs to see practical challenges and solutions in action
