The aim of this course is to provide an overview of subcontracting in construction. Main contractors are to an ever-increasing extent reducing their dependence on directly employed labour and subcontracting more of the works that they win.
After studying this course, you should be able to:-
1. Describe the reason and process of sub-contracting, including the legal basis for it.
2. Explain the reasons for the prevalence of sub-contracting, including the legal basis of sub-contracting, insight into the contractual chain and oversight on domestic sub-contracts
