TEAM TALES - October 2024

TEAM TALES - October 2024

We are delighted to introduce one of our newer staff members, Alex Wightman, who joined BI in the summer as Training Administrator - bringing to the team  a bucketful of skills, an exceptional eye for detail, and some amazing baking skills!

Can you describe yourself in 10 words?

Cheerful, ambitious, generous, driven, creative, organised, knowledgeable, adaptable, caring, nerdy

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your work background?

I was born in Hungary but moved to the UK in 2016 while finishing the last year of my BA degree at the University of Pécs with a major in Adult Education. I worked in lots of different sectors thorughout the years from healthcare, to leasing and even security. Following a short break, when I completed the APM Fundamentals Qualification, I joined Built Intelligence as a Training Administrator.

How long have you been with Built Intelligence?

I started working for Built Intelligence in July 2024.

So, can you tell us what your role entails at BI and what a ‘day in the life of’ looks like!

Due to the nature of my role, I would say my days are very colourful and each day is different. As a Training Administrator I onboards the new learners, do kick-off sessions to familiarise them with the Academy or offboard them when their licence expires. I also help out with the new learning materials, like proofing new courses or arranging new webinars.

What’s the best thing about your role?

I think the best part is to help people achieve their goals and guide them on the path of life-long learning.

What has been your finest moment at BI – what achievement have you been most proud of?

I would say that I am very proud of the good relationship I have managed to build with our clients in such a short time, however if you would ask my colleagues they would probably say my most memorable moment was when I brought a batch of Rocky Road to the office on my first day!

Tell us a little something about the person behind the role?

I live next to a nature reserve so I love taking walks there with my husband, in the summer months we even pick blackberries to make our own jam. I do enjoy a good book, especially from Asian writers, or listening to any kind of music from classical to hard rock. I like to play video games with friends or visiting restaurants to try out new cuisines.

Final thoughts or tips?

It’s always hard to say something meaningful or grandiose on the spot, so my final thought would be just to be kind to one another, be mindful and enjoy the little things.
